With one foot in both the NHS and private sector there are a range of differing challenges to the dental sales rep. Rather like the dispensing doctor, the dentist will have budgetary constraints imposed by the NHS alongside the profit motivations of a private business.
Products are varied ranging from anaesthetics to consumables and surgical tools for use in the practise. Competition is high in this sector although the customer base usually more rep friendly due to the more commercial nature of their market. the better the price they can buy your products at, ultimately it's extra money in their back pocket!!
