Maggots may create nurse advisor jobs

Maggot therapy is making a comeback and has the potential to create a whole lot of new nurse advisor jobs.

It's quite bizarre that after years of development of dressing with anti infectives, physicians are coming to the conclusion that maggots are actually more effective.  Where dressings can take weeks to heal wounds maggots can achieve the same in a matter of days.

ZooBiotic are a pioneering woundcare company who have appointed a maggots expert, Anne Pickford as a nurse advisor to deliver maggot treatment to a current client base of 4000 clients.  They are a global market leader in larval therapy.  They produce some 600,000 maggots per month to supply 1500 hundred dressings.

Anne explains that "Many health treatments are derived from nature, and reinvented with a sophisticated modern approach,"  The use of maggots is 100s of years old, but these are clinically produced and applied in a to the patient by a specialist nurse advisor in a dressing from which they can't escape.

If the treatments continue to grow there may become a national demand for nurse advisor jobs across the country to deliver these treatments.
