Medical Sales Company Reports Growth
Medical Sales company Henry Schein Inc announces growth in the final quarter of last year
One of the worlds largest distributors of medical products Henry Schein Inc., has announced that sales rose by sixteen point four percent in the fourth quarter of last year, compared to the same period of the previous year.
To talk figures, Long Island's third-largest company earned seventy eight point three million dollars, rising from the sixty three million dollars that were earnt in the same quarter in 2006.
The company said that their revenue had been given a fair boost due to the demand for dental products. Dental Sales themselves rose to just under thirteen percent in that quarter, with a demand for both traditional and technical products being strong.
Medical Sales however fell by around five and a half percent in that quarter, although much of that can be attributed to the timing of flue vaccinations. The Vaccinations were shipped early in the third quarter of the year, unlike the previous year where they had been shipped in the final quarter of 2006.
Overseas sales rose by over forty percent, with Henry Schein’s spokes personnel indicating that strong gains were made in the UK, Italy and Spain.
The chief executive of the company Henry Schien commented that the final quarter and end year results were “solid”.
Despite these positive announcements, shares dropped by eighty four cents when trading opened on Monday.
